Olivia Gomez Madrid

Chicano Studies

Olivia Gomez Madrid serves as the Student Trustee for San José City College, representing the student body on the Board of Trustees and ensuring that student perspectives are heard in important institutional decisions. In this role, she advocates for equitable policies, works to strengthen communication between students and administration, and strives to ensure that all voices are included in the decision-making process.

 

She is majoring in Chicano Studies, a field that reflects her passion for culture, identity, and social justice. Through her studies, she brings a unique perspective to her leadership, emphasizing inclusivity, community empowerment, and the importance of diverse representation.

 

Beyond her role as Student Trustee, Olivia is deeply involved in student life and campus initiatives. She actively collaborates with ASG officers, student organizations, and faculty to improve resources and opportunities for her peers. She is especially committed to advocating for underrepresented communities and ensuring that all students have access to a supportive academic environment.

 

Looking ahead, she plans to combine her leadership experiences and academic background to continue serving her community and pursuing a career in education, advocacy, or public service.
