Fresh Food-Drive Thru at San Jose City College (SJCC)

San Jose City College is hosting a drive-thru food distribution event on campus. As this event is in partnership with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, we will be able to provide up to 700+ families packages of free groceries which include protein, produce, and dry goods.

We asked our Director of Student Activities & Development, Blake Balajadia, a few questions to help our students access this event:

  1. Are masks required in the drive-thru? As folks will be in their vehicles, masks are not required for the drive thru area. However, we will always recommend that you use all the measures possible to remain safe during this time.

  2. How will people prove that they are students? This opportunity is for all community members, no IDs needed

  3. Will they need to bring their own containers and bags? No, all items will be in prepackaged boxes/bags and placed in a guest's trunk

  4. What can they do if they do not have a vehicle? We will have a walk up area for participants that do not have a vehicle. These participants will need to wear a mask to be able to receive their package.

We look forward to being able to support our community every 2nd & 4th Wednesday for the Fall 2020 semester starting September 9, 2020. If you're interested in volunteering, please use this link: www.sjccasg.org/group/jags4change.
